The University of Arizona

NSF Center for Autonomic Computing

AVIRTEK is pleased to be one of the founding members of the NSF Center for Autonomic Computing (NSF CAC). The Center is a collaboration between three major universities (University of Florida, The University of Arizona, and Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey) and more than twenty companies and governmental agencies.

Autonomic Computing (AC) refers to a broad range of scientific and engineering R&D methods, architectures, and technologies for the design, implementation, integration, and evaluation of special- and general-purpose computing systems, components, and applications. AC systems aim to self-govern and self-manage themselves in order to minimize cost and risk, accommodate complexity and uncertainty, or enable systems of systems with large numbers of components.

The NSF CAC research activities intend to advance several disciplines that impact the specification, design, engineering and integration of AC and information processing systems.
